Rochester, N.Y. – Rochester Regional Health says operations at Rochester General Hospital are back to normal Thursday morning after a lockdown in the overnight hours

RRH says the lockdown was due to an alleged threat at the hospital, while Rochester Police tell 13WHAM there was a report of a woman with a gun outside threatening to hurt herself

Officers and hospital security searched the area and found no threat, concluding it was a prank call

RRH says there was no disruption to patient care

    Its statement:

Rochester General Hospital briefly went into lockdown overnight while Rochester Regional Health Security and the Rochester Police Department investigated an alleged threat.

Out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement and security personnel conducted a thorough search of the area. Police confirmed there was no threat to the hospital. At no time was there disruption to patient care, and all normal operations have resumed.

We thank our patients, visitors, and team members for their cooperation and understanding during the investigation.
