Department of Medicine hosts John E. Parker Pulmonary and Sleep Symposium
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine hosted its annual John E. Parker Pulmonary and Sleep Symposium on July 31
The conference featured state-of-the-art, clinically relevant education designed to equip physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with the latest evidence and practical insights to enhance patient care
This year’s program included presentations on advances in obstructive lung disease, the future of integrated sleep and obesity care, the changing landscape of interstitial lung disease, evolving lung cancer outcomes, and updates in pulmonary hypertension
The keynote address, “Sleep Disordered Breathing: The Next Frontier in Health System Performance,” was delivered by guest speaker Dr. Neil Freedman
“The true measure of the WVU Pulmonary and Sleep Symposium’s success is not simply the number of attendees or the breadth of topics covered — it is the connections it fosters across our health system,” Dr. Sunil Sharma said
“These conversations reinforce an important truth: Our greatest strength does not reside in any single hospital or individual, but in our willingness to share knowledge, collaborate openly, and build on one another’s expertise. When we come together as a system, we become far more than the sum of our individual contributions — we become a force multiplier for innovation, education, and exceptional patient care.”
The 2027 John E. Parker Pulmonary and Sleep Symposium is scheduled for July 30
