FLINT, Mich. — Genesee Health System is partnering with Greater Heights Academy to host a free community event focused on mental, physical and emotional wellness
The second annual Pillars of Hope: Mental Wealth Tailgate Experience will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2026 at Greater Heights Academy, 3196 Pasadena Ave
The event will include food trucks, inflatables, gaming trucks, haircuts, manicures and other activities. Residents will also be able to connect with mental health re
“This is the second year of this event, and our vision is to bring it to a different community within Genesee County each year so more children and families can benefit from the experience,” said Dexter Clarke, GHS director of faith-based and community engagement initiatives

“By continuing this event, we hope to reduce stigma, foster inclusion, and create stronger communities that support both behavioral and physical health,” Clarke said
Last year’s event was held in partnership with New Standard Academy. GHS plans to continue holding the event at different locations throughout Genesee County
Community partners for this year’s event include the City of Flint, Gloria Coles Flint Public Library, Meridian, Ennis Center for Children, Strive, GST Michigan Works!, Voices for Children, University of Michigan-Flint, Hurley Medical Center, Genesee Community Health Center, Genesee County Prevention Coalition, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Mothers of Joy Institute, Voting Access for All Coalition, Michigan Department of Civil Rights, Mott Community College, Wayne the Barber, Donations With Love and Gift of Life Michigan.
The program is funded through the Genesee County Community Mental Health Millage
