When Dr. Rachel Fidinoarrives at the Global Aesthetics Conference, scheduled for Nov. 5-8, 2026, at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, she will bring more than the perspective of a medical aesthetics business owner

As a doctor of nursing practice and advanced practice registered nurse double board-certified in women’s health and advanced genetics, Fidino has spent more than 13 years caring for women across hormone health, hereditary cancer risk, weight management, wellness and medical aesthetics

She is also bringing a perspective shaped by her own experience as a patient. Fidino entered surgical menopause at just 32 years old after undergoing a hysterectomy for cervical cancer. The experience gave her a firsthand understanding of how dramatically hormonal changes can affect nearly every part of a woman’s life, from energy, weight and sleep to sexual health, skin and confidence. It also showed her just how fragmented the traditional health care experience could be.

“I experienced how fragmented women’s health care can be,” Fidino said. “Women are often sent from one office to another, with each provider addressing only one piece of what they are experiencing.”

That realization ultimately inspired Fidino to found New U Women’s Clinic & Aestheticsin 2020. Rather than creating a traditional medical practice or a standalone med spa, she developed an integrated model that brings women’s health, hormone optimization, weight management, wellness, genetics, sexual health and medical aesthetics together under one roof

The result is what New Udescribes as an “inside-out” approach to women’s health and beauty, one built around treating the patient as a whole person rather than a collection of separate concerns

“Our philosophy is to help women feel better from the inside out by bringing women’s health, hormone optimization, weight management, wellness, genetics, sexual health and medical aesthetics together under one roof,” Fidino said

Now, as New U begins expanding its model through franchising, Fidino is bringing that philosophy to a larger industry conversation at the Global Aesthetics Conference

For Fidino, one of the most important messages she hopes to share at the conference is that medical aesthetics should not be separated from medicine itself

“I am most excited to share the clinical-owner perspective and demonstrate what becomes possible when medical aesthetics is built on a strong health care foundation,” she said. “Aesthetics is sometimes treated as if it exists separately from medicine, but these are medical procedures that require appropriate evaluation, clinical judgment, training, protocols and oversight.”

That clinical foundation has shaped New U from its earliest days. A patient might initially visit New U because she is experiencing symptoms related to menopause, struggling with her weight or looking for help with hormone health. As providers learn more about her goals and establish a relationship, aesthetic or wellness treatments may become part of a broader plan

The opposite can happen, too. Someone who first walks through the doors looking for Botox or a laser treatment might ultimately discover that hormonal, metabolic or other health concerns are contributing to how she feels

“Women do not experience their health in isolated categories,” Fidino said. “Hormonal changes can affect weight, sleep, mood, sexual health, muscle mass, skin quality, hair and confidence. Weight loss can create new concerns related to facial volume, skin laxity and body composition. Menopause can change how a woman looks, but more importantly, it can change how she feels in her own body.”

That philosophy also informs how Fidino thinks about aesthetics itself. “I do not believe aesthetics should be about telling women that they need to be ‘fixed,’” she said. “It should be about giving women safe, informed choices that help them feel like themselves again.”

That means starting with a patient’s medical history, symptoms and goals before determining where aesthetics might fit into the larger picture. “When we address health, wellness and confidence together, we can build long-term relationships and create more meaningful outcomes than we could by simply treating a wrinkle or selling a procedure,” Fidino said

At the Global Aesthetics Conference, Fidino hopes to show other industry professionals that the emphasis on clinical responsibility does not have to come at the expense of the patient experience or the strength of the business

The timing of that conversation is particularly relevant as the aesthetics and wellness industries continue to converge. “The biggest shift I see is that patients no longer want disconnected, one-time treatments,” Fidino said. “They are looking for comprehensive and personalized plans that connect aesthetics with hormone health, metabolic health, weight management, sexual wellness, prevention and healthy aging.”

Medical weight management, including the growing use of GLP-1 medications, has accelerated that shift. Significant weight loss can introduce new questions around muscle preservation, hormones, skin quality, facial volume and body composition, creating a need for providers who can look beyond a single treatment

Fidino is also seeing greater interest in regenerative treatments, energy-based devices, natural-looking results and procedures designed to improve skin quality rather than dramatically alter a patient’s appearance

At the same time, she said patients are becoming more discerning about who provides their care. “They want to know who is treating them, whether that person is appropriately licensed and trained, where products are re in place,” Fidino said. “That is a positive change for the industry.”

New U has responded by continuing to invest in clinical education, provider competency, standardized protocols, advanced technology and longer-term treatment planning. The brand is also strengthening recurring wellness and membership programs designed to support patients on an ongoing basis rather than only when they schedule an individual procedure

“Our goal is to combine the warmth and personalization of a trusted women’s health practice with the elevated experience and innovation of a premier medical-aesthetics destination,” Fidino said

Ultimately, Fidino sees the Global Aesthetics Conference as an opportunity to contribute to a larger conversation about what the industry can become. Her own journey from patient to clinician, founder and now franchisor has reinforced her belief that women should not have to choose between rigorous health care and an elevated, personalized experience. New U was created to bring those pieces together.

As the brand expands, Fidino wants ownership partners who see the same opportunity and responsibility. “I am not simply looking for people who want to own a med spa,” she said. “I am looking for partners who believe in the mission, understand the responsibility that comes with providing health care, and want to redefine how women experience health, wellness and aesthetics across the country.”

And for the professionals she will meet at the Global Aesthetics Conference, Fidino hopes that message extends beyond New U

“I want people to leave inspired to build practices that are not only profitable and scalable, but clinically responsible and truly transformative for their patients,” she said
