HMC opens sleep health clinic to diagnose and treat sleep disorders

Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has opened a Sleep Health Clinic at Hamad General Hospital to provide specialised services for the evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders unrelated to respiratory diseases in adults
In a social media post, HMC said the clinic will conduct comprehensive assessments for persistent or recurring insomnia, difficulty falling or staying asleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, disrupted sleep schedules, frequent waking, and sleep problems associated with stress, anxiety or other psychological disorders
The clinic will provide treatment based on each patient’s needs, including cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia, sleep habit regulation and medication when required.
HMC added that treatment will be offered through collaboration between sleep medicine and psychiatry specialists
The Sleep Health Clinic can be accessed through medical referrals from Primary Health Care Centres (PHCC), medical specialty and psychiatry clinics at Hamad Medical Corporation
