JAKARTA – Samsung Health has updated its sleep and fitness monitoring features by reducing the data requirements for starting Sleep Coaching to only three days, as well as presenting a Sleep Balance graph and Strava route integration. This update, which began to be launched globally in October 2026, also adds a training level to the Running Coach for users of Galaxy devices
The update makes it easier for users to get personalized sleep recommendations without having to collect data for almost a month. Samsung is also expanding outdoor activity support by allowing users to import routes from Strava directly into Samsung Health for running, trail running, and cycling
Previously, Sleep Coaching required sleep data for seven nights in a span of one month. Now, users only need to provide sleep data for three days in a two-week period to start the coaching program
When setting up this feature, users are also asked to answer a short survey about daily habits. Questions include caffeine consumption, alcohol use, screen time, and an assessment of sleep quality in general
Samsung Health then combines the survey answers with sleep sensor data to provide a personalized Sleep Animal symbol. Users can then undergo a four- to eight-week mentoring program
The program provides a list of daily habits that can be applied to improve sleep patterns. For example, avoiding screen use before bed and stretching after waking up. Weekly recommendations are also dynamically adjusted based on changes in user sleep patterns
Samsung also introduced a five-sided graph called Sleep Balance to help users understand the development of their rest quality. This graph combines five main metrics, namely total sleep duration, regularity of sleep schedule, time awake at night, satisfaction with sleep, and Energy Score
In addition to the graph, Samsung Health presents a summary message in the morning that gives an overview of the quality of rest the previous night. This information is designed to help users see the relationship between daily habits and long-term body recovery
The update also targets the Running Coach feature. Samsung increased the number of exercise levels from 10 to 12 levels, so that intermediate to advanced runners have more targets to measure their ability development
Running Coach can create a customized training plan based on the results of a 12-minute fitness test or previous training records. When users reach certain milestones, there are social sharing templates to publish summaries of training results to various social media platforms
For users who exercise outdoors, Strava integration is one of the important additions in this update. Samsung Health now allows for the direct import of Strava routes for running, trail running, and cycling activities
This feature reduces the need to switch applications when users follow the route that has been prepared. Imported routes can be used while exercising with the Galaxy Watch or through a smartphone
Samsung said this software update will begin rolling out globally in October lability schedule for each feature on each device and region was not further explained in the report
