NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA, September 18, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Selina Marie Galvan, MA, LMFT, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Galvan has established herself as a dedicated mental health therapist, having served at Prime Child and Family Therapy since 2023. In this capacity, she provides individual and family therapy sessions, supervises an associate therapist and oversees clinical cases. Her responsibilities also include reviewing case progress, offering clinical guidance and support, managing client treatment plans and therapeutic interventions, as well as maintaining comprehensive client documentation and case records. She is very proud to have hired an associate, enabling her to reach a broader audience aligned with her values and goals.
In addition to her primary role, Ms. Galvan has held the position of licensed marriage and family therapist at Partnerships to Uplift Communities Schools since 2021. In this role, she continues to provide therapeutic services within educational settings, supporting students and their families through evidence-based interventions. Her earlier experience includes serving as an associate marriage and family therapist at Tarzana Treatment Centers from 2020 to 2021, where she gained valuable exposure to diverse clinical populations and honed her skills in crisis intervention and case management.
Ms. Galvan began her journey in the field as a marriage and family therapy trainee at Partnerships to Uplift Communities Schools from 2019 to 2020. Prior to this, she worked as a registered behavior technician at STAR of California from 2017 to 2018, providing behavioral interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder. Her foundational experience in rehabilitation therapy was shaped at Arizona Autism United from 2015 to 2016, where she supported children with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence while concurrently working as an office assistant at Prime Building Materials from 2011 to 2017.
Ms. Galvan’s commitment to advancing the field is reflected in her active involvement with professional organizations. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and has contributed as director of chapter archives for Delta Gamma. From 2013 to 2017, she also served as director of intra-fraternal activities for Delta Gamma, demonstrating leadership within the organization. Her expertise and insights have been recognized through various features, such as her appearance in USC Rossier Magazine in 2025.
Academically, Ms. Galvan’s background is distinguished by a strong foundation in both education and mental health. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in mental health leadership at the University of Southern California, furthering her research on clinician well-being—a topic inspired by her observations regarding burnout among therapists and its impact on client care. She earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy/counseling from the University of Southern California in 2020, equipping her with advanced clinical skills that underpin her current practice.
Earlier, Ms. Galvan graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in special education and teaching. Her undergraduate studies included coursework that prepared her for teaching credentials in both special education and elementary education. During her student teaching placement in a hospital-based educational setting, she worked with students experiencing severe emotional and behavioral disorders—a transformative experience that led her to pursue therapy as a career rather than traditional classroom teaching.
Ms. Galvan’s academic excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Los Angeles County Stipend for Aspiring Clinicians, summa cum laude honors from Arizona State University, multiple appearances on the Dean’s List and the Lamp of Knowledge award from Delta Gamma.
Throughout her academic journey, Ms. Galvan credits her parents for their unwavering support despite not having attended college themselves. Their encouragement empowered her to pursue ambitious goals, including returning for doctoral studies shortly after celebrating both her engagement and a milestone birthday with family and friends. Her father’s recognition of her tenacity has been a driving force behind her pursuit of excellence—not only for herself but also as a legacy for future generations, particularly for her younger siblings.
Ms. Galvan’s career path was also influenced by her experiences with family members who had developmental disabilities and behavioral disorders but lacked adequate support. This inspired her commitment to healing family systems and ultimately led her to pursue a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
Ms. Galvan’s dedication extends beyond clinical work into civic engagement and mentorship. She has served as a student ambassador for USC Rossier and volunteered as a guest lecturer for the marriage and family therapy program at the University of Southern California. Her commitment to training future clinicians is evident through volunteer roles at Partnerships to Uplift Communities Schools and Southern California Counseling Center and volunteer work with The Foundation for Blind Children.
In her personal life, Ms. Galvan values time spent with family, friends and her dog. She enjoys attending sporting events—supporting teams like the Dodgers, Lakers and Rams—alongside walking, running, Pilates and self-care activities. She hopes to make meaningful contributions to the healing and well-being of others, believing that her purpose is to play even a small role in fostering positive change. In a world often marked by hardship and uncertainty, she remains dedicated to serving as a source of compassion, support and healing.
Looking ahead, Ms. Galvan envisions substantial growth for Prime Child and Family Therapy by cultivating an environment that fosters development among associates while maintaining intentional supervision practices. She emphasizes preparing associates for licensure and future independence so they may replicate their success with others. Deeply committed to honoring her father’s entrepreneurial legacy through the practice’s name, she aims to further research on therapist well-being upon completion of her doctorate, building on dissertation work focused on pre-licensure experiences.
Ms. Galvan also plans to gradually shift from direct clinical work toward mentoring and supervision while maintaining meaningful connections with clients as adolescent therapy evolves. Additionally, she aspires to develop a social-emotional learning curriculum for schools addressing mental health awareness, healthy relationships and coping strategies, laying the groundwork for preventative care among future generations.# # #
