Spring Sleep has expanded its Scientific Advisory Board with the appointment of five physicians specializing in sleep medicine, otolaryngology and oral and facial surgery as the company broadens clinical guidance for its sleep-disordered breathing therapies
The Miami-based consumer brand of Spectrum Sleep Solutions Inc. said the additions support its efforts to expand access to advanced treatments for primary snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) across the United States
Joining the Scientific Advisory Board are Dr. Chad W. Dammling of Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery, Dr. Robert Puchalski of South Carolina ENT Allergy and Sleep Medicine, Dr. Katherine Green of UC Health, Dr. Asim Roy of Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute and Dr. Shane Pahlavan of The ENT & Allergy Center of Texas
The board is chaired by Dr. Brian Weeks, a nationally recognized sleep health specialist whose work focuses on innovations in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea
“The need for innovative sleep solutions continues to grow,” said Forrest Ackerman, chief executive officer of Spectrum Sleep Solutions and Spring Sleep. “We’re honored to have these incredible expert physicians joining our team to help guide us to improve treatments for sleep-disordered breathing.”
The expanded advisory board will provide clinical expertise as Spring Sleep continues commercializing eXciteOSA, the company’s flagship therapy for primary snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea
eXciteOSA is the only U.S. Food and Drug Administration-cleared daytime treatment for primary snoring and mild OSA. The therapy uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to strengthen upper airway muscles, targeting an underlying cause of airway collapse rather than managing symptoms during sleep. Unlike continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, the device is designed for daytime use.
Spring Sleep serves as the consumer-facing brand of Spectrum Sleep Solutions, focusing on increasing patient access to non-invasive sleep therapies through a direct-to-consumer model. The company aims to bridge clinical innovation and patient care by offering FDA-cleared technologies that address sleep-disordered breathing and improve access to treatment for individuals with mild obstructive sleep apnea and primary snoring.
