Seoul’s Eunpyeong-gu district is recruiting participants for a youth mental wellness program called “Light Up Your Mind,” running from Sept. 2 to Sept. 16, district mayor Kim Mi-kyung announced
The program is designed to help young people understand the various challenges of early adulthood, reflect on their inner lives and map out a path forward
Sessions will cover a life-satisfaction checklist and personal mind-mapping exercise, an exploration of life comparisons through a timeline and the influence of interpersonal relationships, and a life-graph activity paired with future planning
The program runs as group counseling, with participants sharing their experiences and thoughts with one another. Through the sessions and activities, they will examine their current state of mind and relationships, and take time to envision their lives ahead in concrete terms
Starting Sept. 2, the program meets every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the multipurpose room on the second floor of Eunpyeong New Town Library, for a total of three sessions. Up to 15 young people aged 19 to 39 who live or work in Eunpyeong-gu may participate
Applications are accepted by phone or For more information, contact the psychological support center at the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center
“Youth is a critical time when people search for direction in life amid many concerns — career, relationships and more,” district mayor Kim said. “I hope this program gives young people a chance to look inward and draw a clearer picture of the life ahead of them.”
