WASHINGTON (TNND) —The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions held a confirmation hearing at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, for three nominees to top federal health posts
The hearing considered the nominations of Chris Klomp to be deputy secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services; Nicole Saphier to be medical director in the Regular Corps of the Public Health Service and surgeon general of the Public Health Service; and Timothy Westlake to be assistant secretary for mental health and substance use
The hearing took place in Room 430 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building
