New study links sleep consistency to long-term health, Dr. Marc Kahn weighs in
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —A new study suggests sleep quality and consistency may be linked to long-term health. Researchers analyzed wrist-tracker data from more than 95,000 people and found that six to eight hours of sleep was associated with the lowest health risk across many conditions
The study also found that more REM sleep was associated with a lower risk of several diseases. Researchers stress these are associations, not proof that sleep directly prevents disease, and wearable trackers cannot measure sleep as precisely as a clinical sleep study
Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine’s Dr. Marc Kahn joined ARC Las Vegas to share insight
