DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – Clocks will fall back an hour this weekend for daylight saving time, and experts said the change should not have a major impact on health
Sleep experts said November’s time change has shown minimal health impacts compared with the time change in the spring
Experts said it is still important to get the necessary amount of sleep each night. The average for adults is 7 to 8 hours
Not getting enough sleep can lead to health concerns such as heart disease, diabetes and depression
Dr. Mark Rosenblum, a sleep psychologist, said there are a few ways to help during the transition
“When it comes to this fall transition time, what we usually advise people is to use dim light before bedtime, but also dim light in the early morning while we’re making this transition,” Rosenblum said
Rosenblum also recommends staying off your phone before bed to limit blue light exposure
